Abstract
In long-haul wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) transmission systems, transmitted signals have different chromatic dispersions due to the slope of group-velocity-dispersion (GVD). Some signals have large penalties due to SPM-GVD after optimizing the dispersion-compensation-fiber (DCF) length at the receiver.1 As a countermeasure, we propose both pre- and post-compensation for each channel at the transmitter and receiver.
