Low nonlinear dispersion-shifted fiber

Abstract

Due to fiber nonlinear effects such as self-phase modulation (SPM) and cross-phase modulation (XPM), transmission signal is distorted. Thus the low nonlinear dispersion-shifted fiber (DSF) is required to achieve high-bit-rate transmission using 1.55-μm band.
