Abstract

Development of wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) systems has promoted extensive use of non-zero dispersion-shifted fiber (NZ-DSF), which is dispersion shifted but has a finite dispersion in the erbium- doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) transmission window to minimize four- wave mixing (FWM) effects.
