Abstract

The cable TV industry has been always opportunistic. This attitude is dictated by the simple truth that its major objective is to generate profit. Hence, any new technology that defends the core business against competition and facilitates introduction of new services when they become feasible has been quickly endorsed by the cable TV operators.
