Abstract

The requirement for more optical bandwidth in WDM systems has led to the development of EDFA's in the 1560 - 1600nm window, known as Long Wavelength EDFA (LW-EDFA). Current LW-EDFA's show an increased noise figure over conventional band amplifiers
