Abstract
Dispersion compensating fibers (DCFs) which can simultaneously compensate for the 2nd- and the 3rd-order dispersion (dispersion slope) around 1550nm of the single-mode fiber (SMF) are the most promising dispersion compensator for the future wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) systems because of their broad bandwidth, and several types of DCFs have been reported[1][2][3].
