Abstract

Hierarchical Optical Path Architecture consisting of WDM bands and channels are suitable for large-scale WDM backbone networks. A hierarchical Optical Path Cross-Connect System (OPXC) using Matrix WDM scheme is proposed as reliable and economical high performance node architecture.
