Abstract

A novel all optical limiter based on a wavelength-converter and a saturable-absorber using electroabsorption modulators has been proposed. Elimination of severe pattern-dependent intensity fluctuation in 10.7Gbit/s optical signals was successfully demonstrated with this new scheme.
