Abstract

The exponential growth of data traffic has driven deployment of the wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) equipment in telecommunication network to alleviate fiber exhaust. However, current WDM transport systems in the long haul network do not yet perform traffic protection or restoration. SONET/SDH ADMs are required in transport network to provide network survivability [1].
