Optical Path and Crosstalk Monitoring for Optical Cross-Connect Switches using Arrayed Waveguide Grating

Abstract

We propose and demonstrate an optical path monitoring scheme for optical cross connects using arrayed waveguide grating as multiplexer/demultiplexer based on their periodicity and routing properties. Partial failure induced crosstalk in switches can also be monitored.
