Abstract

With the increasing demand for transmission capacity on optical fiber trunk lines, ultra-long 40Gb/s per-channel all optical transmission systems are now becoming very attractive [1-3], as they offer high signal spectral efficiency and large capacity with a smaller number of channels, at potentially lower cost.
