40 Gbit/s 25WDM RZ signal transmission using L-band amplifiers and NZ-DSF spans

Abstract

40Gbit/s 25WDM RZ signal transmission over 550km was demonstrated using L-band amplifiers and non-zero dispersion shifted fibers, and transmission impairments were reduced by effective dispersion management. The Q factor obtained on average was 15.4dB after transmission.
