Real-time endless polarization tracking and control system for PMD compensation

Abstract

A novel polarization tracking and control system for polarization-mode-dispersion (PMD) compensation is developed. The processing time of the system is reduced to several milliseconds by means of liquid crystal phase retarders and a novel polarization tracking algorithm.
