Abstract

We present the pump wavelength dependency of S+-band thulium doped fluoride fiber amplifiers performances, cusing a newly developed numerical model for the 1.47 µm amplification band, for the first time to authors’ knowledge. The optimum pump wavelength varies from 1045nm to 1070nm depending on the operating conditions. Insights on the amplifier operation dependence on the pump wavelength and pumping power will be discussed.
