Abstract
We report on the generation and transmission of a polarisation-bit-interleaved 80 Gb/s signal at 0.8 b/Hz.s spectral efficiency. A total capacity of 2.56 Tb/s (32×80 Gb/s) was demonstrated over 120 km NDSF with distributed Raman amplification. System linear Q values between 6.1 and 8 for 231-1 PRBS pattern length were achieved
