A 8×8 all optical space-switch based on a novel 8×1 MOEMS switching module

Abstract

We report a 8x8 switch based on a novel MOEMS technology allowing wide bandwidth (1300-1650nm), fast switching (<1ms), excellent isolation (>50dB) and high modularity. This switch allow the realization of high capacity optical cross-connects (e.g.1024×1024).
