Novel RZ Receivers with Enhanced Jitter and PMD Tolerance

Abstract

We successfully demonstrated a novel type of RZ data receiver that is based on multi-sampling and logical OR operations (OR-RZ receiver). It has superior performance compared to a standard receiver when the signal is distorted by timing jitter and advantages in case of PMD corrupted signals.
