Abstract

With the wide deployments of WDM systems in the past few years, wavelength, power and OSNR monitoring has become an indispensable network function in determining the transmission signal quality. The OSNR measurement is not only for quality monitoring at the end of transmission, but also for system performance optimization through dynamic tuning device, such as dynamic gain equalizer (DGE).1
