Abstract

Recently, optical fiber amplifiers are being developed to increase the transmission capacity of wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) systems.1–5 Erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFAs) are the most popular amplifiers for optical communications. To increase the capacity of WDM system, extension of the bandwidth of the EDFA and development of other signal bands like the L- band or S-band is necessary.1–5
