Abstract

Shared risk link groups (SRLGs)1 provide inputs necessary to plan for reliability in transport networks. An SRLG is associated with an entity at risk, typically a fiber span,2 though more general risks might be modeled. SRLGs are fundamental inputs to resource management in the Generalized Multi-Protocol Label Switching (GMPLS) control plane, now being developed in the IETF.3
