Abstract

Recent progress in dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) optical transmission systems has called for developing advanced photonic devices with higher functionality, such as a low chirp modulation capability with high output power, an optical spot size conversion for high-efficiency fiber coupling, and a lasing wavelength tunability.
