Abstract

The demand for higher transmission capacity on existing optical networks is increasing. To cope with this demand, the channel spacing of dense wavelength-division-multiplexing (DWDM) system must be reduced in order to increase the number of channels. 50 GHz spaced DWDM systems are commercially provided.
