Selection-Free WDM DFB Lasers for STM16 Applications

Abstract

The fabrication of single mode WDM Distributed FeedBack (DFB) lasers at the low cost price of Fabry-Perrot (FP) lasers is still a challenge. Interference effects between the FP cavity and the grating make the lasing properties strongly dependent on the cleavage plane position, which leads to expensive selection tests.
