Abstract

We demonstrate an ultra-compact, low cost coarse wavelength monitor. Wavelength resolution of 7 nm is achieved through core-radiation mode coupling of a tilted grating in photosensitive clad fiber. We applied the device to measure the powers of a multi-wavelength source.
