Transmission in the L+ Band for Metropolitan Applications

Abstract

We demonstrate 10 Gb/s transmission in the 1620–1650 nm band on a metropolitan scaled distance using only Raman amplification. Transmission in the L+-band should prove useful to expand spectral bandwidth for coarse WDM applications.
