Tunable Dispersion Compensator Based on Novel Distributed Gires-Tournois Etalons

Abstract

We report realization of the first all-fiber distributed Gires-Tournois etalons (DGTE) using chirped fiber gratings. We also demonstrate a compact tunable dispersion compensator, which has the advantages of multi-channel operation, extremely low group delay ripple, low loss and low cost.
