Abstract

We demonstrated a 40km Passive Optical Metro-Access Ring (POMAR) including 5 nodes able to carry up to 2×(16×2.5) Gbit/s without amplification. An original 1+1 protection scheme based on bi-directional fibers was implemented, not limited by the Rayleigh back scattering.
