160Gb/s to 10Gb/s OTDM Demultiplexing Using a Traveling-wave Electroabsorption Modulator

Abstract

We demonstrate for the first time direct 160Gb/s to 10Gb/s demultiplexing using one electrically-gated electroabsoprtion modulator. No indication of an error floor was observed. The power penalty for the worst channel is less than 1.5dB.
