DOP-Based PMD Monitoring in Optical Subcarrier Multiplexed Systems by Carrier/Sideband Equalization

Abstract

We use an optical filter to equalize the power of the carrier and one of the sidebands, enabling demonstration of a novel PMD monitor for both single- and double-sideband SCM systems using DOP as the monitoring signal.
