Abstract

Fourier analysis of manufactured EDFAs shows gain flatness yield improvement when DGEs are used to correct accumulated ripple in cascades. DGE resolution requirements are compared between C and L-Band EDFAs using thin-film GFFs, and with EDFAs using FBG “clean-up” filters.
