Abstract

Optical PMD compensators with 1 and 2 stages using eye monitor feedback have been assessed experimentally. Applying statistical PMD with 35% of bitperiode the 2 stage compensator exhibits 2dB penalty at 10-5 outage, 1.5dB superior to 1 stage compensator.
