Abstract

Absorption recovery time and cross-phase modulation characteristics of an MQW electroabsorption modulator (EAM) are experimentally analyzed. Error-free operation at 80 Gbit/s wavelength conversion by MQW EAM with a delayed-interferometer configuration for the first time.
