A High-Density Optical Circuit Using Downsized Fibers and Flame-Retardant Fiber-Ribbons for Integrated Optical Module

Abstract

We developed a novel high-density and flameproof optical circuit using downsized fibers and new design fiber-ribbons suitable for WDM components. The relationship between failure probability in the tight bending condition and glass-diameter is discussed. Characteristics of key-devices are reported.
