Abstract

We propose a new operating scheme of the Symmetric-Mach-Zehnder all-optical switch for bit-rate-transparent NRZ wavelength conversion. We experimentally demonstrate error-free operation in the range from 2.5 to 42 Gb/s without changing other operating conditions.
