Abstract

We investigated coherent detection of BPSK signal using LiNbO3 optical 90o hybrid with pulsed and CW local-oscillator. Bit-error-rate improvement was observed using pulsed local-oscillator and it provides pulse shaping capability that reduces pulse broadening penalty.
