Abstract

We investigated and compared the effect of SOA nonlinearities on 12.5 Gsymbol/s RZ-OOK, RZ-DQPSK, and polarization-bit-interleaved RZ-DQPSK DWDM channels with 20-GHz spacing. Our results showed that polarization-bit-interleaved RZ-DQPSK is overall most tolerant to SOA nonlinearities.
