Abstract

We have developed a novel Optical Sampling Oscilloscope (OSO) that can measure an optical signal exceeding 160 Gbps without using a traditional trigger technique. We describe the first measurement in the persistence mode of a short pulse-modulated PRBS pattern with a jitter of 0.2 ps rms and a resolution of 1 ps.
