Characteristics improvement of long-period fiber gratings fabricated by femtosecond laser pulses using novel positioning technique

Abstract

A novel and precise positioning of focal point is developed to fabricate long-period fiber gratings by near-infrared femtosecond laser pulses. Low background loss of 0.26dB, excellent transmission spectrum and highly controlled center wavelength are realized.
