Abstract

We show, for the first time, the suppression of intra -channel nonlinear distortion in 4 0Gbit/s transmission by combining alternate-polarisation with the alternate-phase-RZ signal in an optical -time-division-multiplexed system, doubling the maximum trans mission distance compared to standard RZ.
