Abstract

We investigate narrow bandwidth filtering of 160 Gb/s signals with and without optical phase correlation between adjacent data pulses. Generation of the first coherent 160 Gb/s RZ signal allows us to demonstrate its sideband detection. The coherent 160 Gb/s RZ signal was detected with a record sensitivity of –26.45 ± 0.25 dBm.
