Highly Efficient Fused-Type Core-Cladding Mode Coupler

Abstract

We demonstrate a novel fused-type mode-selective coupler that couples the LP13 cladding mode in one fiber to the LP01 core mode in another fiber around 1550 nm. The coupling efficiency of 70% was achieved.
