Tunable Passively Mode-Locked Fibre Ring Laser

Abstract

A polarization-dependent Mach-Zehnder amplitude modulator was used in the passively mode-locked fibre ring laser. When the modulator was biased at different voltages, stable soliton train with tunable repetition rates from 50GHz to 300GHz was observed.
