Instantaneous clock recovery for burst-mode optical label and payload by using a conventional data receiver

Abstract

We have demonstrated a novel method using a conventional receiver to detect preamble free label and payload in burst-mode transmission in an optical label switched network. The extracted clock exhibits shows small jitter, which can be used for clock recovery and data regeneration.
