Optical beat interference suppression using semiconductor optical amplifier in reflective semiconductor optical amplifier based WDM/SCM-passive optical network

Abstract

We proposed a novel method suppressing the OBI noise in RSOA based WDM/SCM-PON. This is to use the SOA operated in gain saturation range, which acts as high pass filter. CNR increased up to 15dB compared with that without using a SOA.
