Abstract

We report the lowest attenuation of 0.35dB/km@1550nm achieved in the Aluminum- doped, SMF-28®-like, SM optical fiber. Additional features such as lower n2, dispersion, and dispersion-slope, higher SBS threshold and better profiling stability have also been demonstrated.
