Compact RZ-DPSK Transmitter Applying a PhaseCOMB Laser as Carved Source

Abstract

A RZ-DPSK transmitter is assembled applying a PhaseCOMB laser as compact and spectrally efficient carved source. System performance is evaluated at 40 Gbit/s and error free transmission over 160 km standard single-mode fibre is demonstrated.
