Penalty-free 40 Gb/s transmission in 1000 nm band over low loss PCF

Abstract

We achieved the first penalty-free 40 Gb/s transmission at 1064 nm over a 6 km-long, low loss PCF. A negative power penalty was achieved by using the pre-chirp technique with a Z- cut LN modulator.
