A reconfigurable optical add-drop multiplexer architecture employing Opto-VLSI processing

Abstract

A Reconfigurable Optical Add/Drop Multiplexer (ROADM) architecture using an Opto-VLSI processor is demonstrated. Experimental results for a 6-channel ROADM show interchannel crosstalk of less than-25dB and inter-port isolation better than 20 dB.
