Abstract
Optical properties of single-mode As2Se3 chalcogenide fibers are investigated for applications in the 1.55μm wavelength range. The fiber exhibits large Kerr nonlinearity (γ=954W- 1km-1) and a large Brillouin gain coefficient of 6.2⨉10-9 m/W, about 134 times larger than fused silica fiber.
