CO2-laser fabricated long-period grating sensors in graded-index multimode fibers

We report long-period grating fabricated in a graded-index multimode fiber by deforming the geometry of the fiber periodically with a focused CO2-laser beam. The sensing applications of such multimode fiber long-period gratings are proposed.
